Tina Sataraka, MSW Associate Mental Health Therapist

Tina is a first-generation Samoan American born and raised in San Francisco. She has witnessed firsthand how not speaking up about harm can impact a person, especially when silence is used to protect family dynamics. She has witnessed first-hand that this often comes at the expense of one's personal wellbeing (including minors). This lived experience has shaped her commitment to creating safe spaces for healing, with a specific focus on sexual abuse and trauma within the Pasefika community. She also understands that it's important to build bridges of understanding across all generations.

Tina earned her Associate’s degree in Psychology from Skyline Collegein 2016 before transferring to Humboldt State University (now Cal Poly Humboldt), where she graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She later then, returned to school in 2023 to pursue her Master’s in Social Work and graduated in 2024. Tina currently holds an Associate Clinical Social Work license and is deeply passionate about breaking cycles, honoring silenced stories, and reminding others that although the sun shines bright, their worth shines brighter. Our people are deserving of healing and it doesn't have to be solely done through prayer. Prayer is one tool just how therapy is another. Fa'afetai tele lava.
